Jaipur Abhayindia.com Under Chief Minister Chiranjeevi’s Health Insurance Scheme, free organ transplants can be done at any out-of-state hospital. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot approved the leadership in this regard.
According to the guidelines, organ transplants and cochlear implants will be reimbursed out of state. Organ transplantation will be recommended by the Transplant Evaluation Committee set up in government medical colleges. Once a recommendation is made, the patient will be eligible for the out-of-state organ transplant package.
However, air travel expenses of up to Rs 1 million will also be reimbursed to the patient and one companion for out-of-state treatment. In addition, with the permission of the competent level, under special circumstances, an advance amount of up to 50 percent of the package limit will also be available to the patient.
There are currently 37 organ transplant packages and 5 additional cochlear implant packages under the scheme at statewide general hospitals.
