Bikaner Abhayindia.com ICAR-National Camel Research Center (NRCC) in Bikaner celebrated its 40th anniversary in a big way. On this occasion, a discussion was also organized between farmers, scientists and stakeholders on the topic “Entrepreneurial Opportunities in Camel Dairy Farming and Ecotourism”. The director of the center, Dr. Artabandhu Sahu, gave a lecture on dairy-related entrepreneurship, Dr. Saval on tourism-related entrepreneurship. “Humaneous Behavior with Camels” published at the center was distributed by the guests. At the same time, he released “freeze-dried camel milk powder” to the general public.

As the main guest at the foundation day, organized at the first session, prof. K.M.L. Patak, ex DDG, ICAR & VC, Duvasu, Dr. A.K. Tomar, Director of CSWRI, Avikanagar, Atiti Gopal Singh Bhati, Executive Director, Central Wool Development Board, Jodhpur, and Dr. Naveen Mishra, Additional Director, Department of Animal Husbandry. At the same time, heads of departments of the Bikaner-based IKAR institutes, farmers and entrepreneurs also participated in this program.

Chief guest prof. KML Pathak said in his speech that camel milk is good for human health, so in order to promote it, livestock farmers should use it as a dairy business. He talked about various aspects such as the great opportunities in camel ecotourism, the problems that arise in camel breeding, especially the lack of grazing land, the common misconceptions about milk in society, the education/awareness of the shepherds, the growing trend of youth, giving the importance of camels from a scientific point of view. view, etc. Keep your point of view.

Dr. A.K. Describing camel milk as a panacea, Tomar referred to the value-added dairy products developed at the NRCC and said livestock farmers should increase their income by embracing it as a business. Dr. Tomar called on farmers to innovate, implement new methods and engage in mixed animal husbandry.

Center director Dr. Artabandhu Sahu spoke about the NRCC research and scientific advances made in recent years and said that it would not be an exaggeration to call the camel a “medicine pantry”, given the characteristics inherent in this species. Dr. Sahu said that along with the camel milk business, it should be used in various fields such as wool, leather, tourism, etc. so that the income of the shepherds can increase. Dr. Sahu also talked about increasing funds for a camel conservation program for herders in the state.

Dr. Naveen Mishra said that the medicinal benefits of camel milk have been scientifically highlighted by the NRCC, so camel herders will have to come forward with positive thinking from this collective. At the second session, technical lectures by Dr. R.P. Agarwala emphasized the importance of camel milk in diabetes. Dr. Kaushal Sharma explained the importance of camel milk for the treatment of autism in mentally retarded children. Shyam Bhatnagar, Sarhad Dairy, Gujarat spoke about Amul’s efforts to produce camel milk. Manikandan from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu spoke about the dairy production of camel milk that started in South India. Sarik Raik’s Dairy Store, Naresh from Jaipur, Sevaram from Sirohi and Sumer Singh Bhati from Jaisalmer discussed the marketing of camel milk.

The stern Urmul Simant Samiti recounted the efforts made by the committee. Other entrepreneurs also spoke about their work. On this occasion, personnel and winners of sports competitions were awarded for excellent work. Dr. Ved Prakash, Senior Research Fellow, Dr. Basanti Jotsna, Dr. S.S.
