Jaipur Abhayindia.com Home Rule Minister Shanti Kumar Dhariwal said at a meeting on Tuesday that JCTSL has signed a contract to operate 100 electric buses in the city of Jaipur. He revealed that Jaipur City announced 300 buses, including 100 midi buses, in the 2023-2024 budget announcement. He said that the process of holding a tender for these buses on a service model is underway.

Responding to additional questions posed by members in this regard during Question Hour, the Minister for Autonomous Governance said that out of 209 city bus service permits issued in Jaipur City, 200 buses are operated by JCTSL. Of these, 130 are medium-sized buses and 70 are low-floor buses. He said that 2,291 permits have been issued for private buses, of which 2,400 buses are currently running.

The Minister of the Autonomous Government said that the launch of the second metro line in Jaipur city can make traffic more convenient, but due to some conditions of the central government, the central government cannot help launch the second metro line.

Earlier, in a written response to MLA Kalicharan Saraf’s original question, the Home Rule Minister said that 209 city service permits and 2291 minibus permits have now been issued by the Jaipur City Department of Transportation. He said that JCTSL currently has 200 low-floor buses and 2,040 minibuses operated by private vehicle owners. Dhariwal said measures are being taken to operate the buses in accordance with possible regulations. He also said that a tender for the purchase of buses is being held.
