Bikaner Abhayindia.com Some 30 dilapidated stalls were removed from three locations on Friday, a day after a visit by the district collector and urban development fund president Bhagwati Prasad Kalal. The City Development Trust team arrived at these locations in the morning, along with JCB and other resources, and took action to dismantle the kiosks.
The Foundation team removed the dilapidated stalls built near Patel Nagar, Panchshati circle, near Nagnechi Ji Temple and behind the Medical College. These kiosks were built by the Trust in 2003-04 and are designed to last ten years. It has now fallen into disrepair and antisocial elements have engaged in undesirable activities such as drug abuse. In this regard, the district collector instructed to remove them on Thursday. In accordance with which this action was taken on Friday under the leadership of the secretary of the trust, Yashpal Ahuja.
The district collector advised that the kiosk site away from the Panchshat circle would be used for parking. It is planned that the space behind Patel Nagar and the College of Medicine will be set aside for commercial use. On the other hand, the site behind the Nagnechi-ji temple will be given to the water department. It will be used by the department to make a tank.
